Beat egg whites after peaks form...beat in 1/2 cup sugar
Beat whipping cream after peaks start to form ...
add in 1/2 cup sugar and vanilla
Beat egg yolks adding remaining 2 cups of sugar (in large bowl)
Blend in egg whites and whipping cream mixtures to egg yolks mixture.
Add as much milk as possible to mixing bowl and mix with a mixer.
Pour into can of machine to about 3 inches from top
Making ice cream requires a lot of ice and rock salt

*** This was a family tradition that required a lot of team work with the old time just plug it in and wait for the treat to get solid.
